PLAY

HIPPY

While having fun playing together you are giving your child a head start in learning. Your child’s best teacher is YOU.

PLAY (Parents Learning Actively with Youngsters) promotes healthier child and parent relationships by providing fun games and activities to share which help the development of children aged six months to four years. A PLAY Mentor visits once a week to discuss a program of activities. The parent and child are then free to enjoy and discover the activities together.

It is an early introduction to learning as well as a method of creating opportunities for valuable time together.

PLAY can be delivered in your home or in group settings in the local community.

The PLAY Program is a family enrichment program that is suitable for all families with a variety of needs. Research has shown that a stimulating environment during the ages of 0-4 years has long-term benefits for children. Your child's best teacher is YOU.

The PLAY Program encourages families to provide the most stimulating environment possible. All activities will assist in your child's development and be matched to your child's needs.

The program also offers training and employment pathways for parents. Parents participating in the program are eligible to apply for Mentor positions as they arise. Glastonbury has a committment to recruit Mentors from the families that have completed the program. This ensures linkages for families in the local community.
