Your generosity is appreciated. Any support you can offer ensures Glastonbury can continue to help families within the Geelong and Colac Communities.
You can help us to continue our work in the community.
Glastonbury Child and Family Services invites you to consider making a bequest.
What is a bequest?
A bequest is a gift or donation given through the distribution of assets named in a Will. It can be worded according to your preferences.
Residual Bequest
This is the remaining part of your estate after the rest of your assets have been distributed and any outstanding debts have been settled.
During the time between the making of your Will and its operation, you can state that in the event of a named beneficiary being unable to accept your bequest then Glastonbury Child and Family Services will benefit instead.
Proportional Bequest
You can allocate a proportion of your residual estate to be left, eg 20% of my residuary estate is left to Glastonbury Child and Family Services.
Another way to financially assist Glastonbury is by making a bequest through a perpetual trust, which will provide ongoing support for our work.
Specific Bequest
A pre-appointed sum of money or an asset such as an amount of shares, debentures, bonds or a life insurance policy.
You can also make specific bequests such as property, though this can include costs for the beneficiary and it is not advisable to specify jointly owned property.
Glastonbury would like to remind all those kind enough to consider us for a bequest, families and loved ones must always be of a higher priority. When writing your Will you are legally obliged to care for individuals in your life who expect to be adequately provided for. You must make sure they are content with their inheritance for before considering charitable donations.
Glastonbury would like to advise those making a bequest to consult a solicitor when drawing up a Will. In order to avoid any unjustified influencing during the Will process, we cannot provide legal advice or recommend legal firms.
Sponsorship
Glastonbury Child and Family Services have various sponsorship options available to businesses.
Our sponsorship packages benefit troubled individuals and families in the Geelong and Colac region, as well as supplying your business with opportunities to communicate a particular message or to further define its image.
You can also meet your marketing targets by working closely with our well-trained staff to develop a suitable and beneficial sponsorship package. If your company has any upcoming events or projects, you may want to elect Glastonbury as your company’s main charity. We will then design a definitive campaign that will embody and highlight your support.
Program Partnerships
Glastonbury moves with the times. In order to see that the needs of people within the Geelong and Colac communities are being met, the Glastonbury staff constantly research new social needs and trends. Using the information they gather a program is created to pinpoint, and possibly solve, certain problems and issues. Foster a Child
Have you considered becoming a carer of a foster child? Foster care is designed for children who are temporarily unable to live with their birth families. Foster care provides the child with an alternative home environment until the parents can resolve their issues at which point the child will return home. Although returning the child to the birth family is the expected outcome, foster children are placed in loving and stable surroundings up until the time that reunion becomes possible.
