Events Thank You, Foster Carers On Saturday 6 December carers, children and staff from Glastonbury Child and Family Services met at Adventure Park, Wallington to celebrate our foster carer’s commitment to providing a valuable service for children and families in the community. Judy Wookey, Glastonbury’s CEO, congratulated and thanked carers for their selfless work and acknowledged significant achievements with a special presentation of certificates. “Our carers provide an important service to the community. The generosity provided by those dedicated to helping children in need reflects Glastonbury’s own values and mission to improve the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people most at risk,” says Judy Wookey. Annual General Meeting
Meryl Hansford, Gerard Whateley and Lyn Edwards at the Annual General Meeting. While many volunteers, community members and staff contribute to Glastonbury’s work with children and young people, some stand out through their commitment to the values driving our organisation. This year Glastonbury presented the inaugural Victor Coull Staff Award, (named after a previous CEO) to acknowledge a staff member’s service to the organisation. Two staff members received the award this year. Merryl Hansford, who is considered the 'voice of Glastonbury' has worked with the agency for 35 years, beginning as a domestic at the orphanage, before working in various administrative roles. Lyn Edwards, Director of Family Placement Services, received her award for inspirational work with children and young people.
